The victim is too stupid to live. You don't tell someone you're breaking up with them and then go to bed! You pack up and leave, keeping a weather eye on your new worst enemy until you are safely out of the neighborhood. She must have been using old fashioned grits or they'd have been too thick to pour easily. If she were using instant, she'd have had to smear them on with a utensil.

Wow, that's really how you respond to domestic violence? Some woman gets beaten half to death by her boyfriend for cheating on him- "She's too dumb to live, you don't tell people you cheated on them!"

Look, I agree that he could have been smarter about handling the situation, but that is never an appropriate response to domestic violence- which, if we're not all on the same page, is a very real, very serious problem.

We're on the same page. Domestic violence is never acceptable. I often say that even though I might deserve to have the s**t beaten out of me, that doesn't give anybody else the right to do it. "Too stupid to live" is a comment on his problem-solving ability not a license to kill, maim, or scald with grits.

Fair enough; it's just that there seem to be a lot of people on the vine who love nothing more than to explain why these events are really the victim's fault.

There's another, equally nasty contingent which will do the above, but only when the victim is a man.

Glad to hear you're neither, and sorry if I over-reacted.

Glad to set your mind at ease. My daughter and I have a running joke on the "dumb criminal" stories they always broadcast. I say if you're not part of the solution, you're part of the problem. Instead of complaining about our stupid up and coming crooks, it's up to us to train them. With that in mind, I suggest seminars in which pointers are given to the young juvies such as "Don't write your ransom note on the back of your own blank check" or "Don't rob someone and then take a cab to your house carrying the loot.''

Obviously, I am a fan of dark humor.

Banat2 comment is deleted and reported to admins. Advertising is a violation of Newsvine policy. I suspect banat2 will soon be gone from newsvine.
